BRANDQUILL

Chrome extension privacy policy

Effective August 25, 2026

The short version

The BrandQuill extension reads text from the active ChatGPT or Claude page only after you click Send to BrandQuill. It keeps one pending draft in Chrome extension storage for no more than 10 minutes, delivers that draft to the BrandQuill publisher in your browser, and removes the stored copy after the publisher acknowledges delivery.

Data the extension handles

The extension handles website content consisting of text you select or the latest visible assistant response. It also checks whether the active page is on chatgpt.com or claude.ai so it can enable its user-facing capture feature. The extension does not read cookies, account credentials, payment information, unrelated tabs, or browsing history outside the active page.

When access begins

Access begins only when you open the extension and click Send to BrandQuill. Before that action, the popup explains what text will be read and how it will be handled. The extension uses temporary active-tab access instead of permanent access to ChatGPT or Claude.

Local processing and retention

The captured draft is stored locally in Chrome extension storage for up to 10 minutes. The extension opens brandquill.app and transfers the draft to that page inside your browser. The draft is removed from extension storage as soon as the publisher confirms receipt, or when the 10-minute limit expires.

Use and sharing

The draft is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: moving user-chosen text into the BrandQuill Word-document publisher. It is not sold, used for advertising, used to build a user profile, used for credit decisions, or shared with data brokers. BrandQuill personnel do not receive or read the captured draft. Document generation does not send the draft to an AI model.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

BrandQuill's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's disclosed capture and publishing feature, and is not transferred except as necessary to provide that feature, comply with law, address security, or complete a business transfer with legally required consent.

Permissions

activeTab provides temporary access to the page you are viewing after you click the extension. scripting runs the response-capture function in that active page. storage holds one pending draft until BrandQuill receives it. Access to https://brandquill.app/* delivers the draft to the publisher and deletes the local copy after acknowledgement.

Security

The extension does not execute remotely hosted code. Any transfer to brandquill.app uses HTTPS, and document publishing runs in the browser. Do not capture confidential content unless you are authorized to use it.

Changes and contact

If the extension's data handling changes, this policy and the in-product disclosure will be updated before the new handling begins. Privacy questions can be sent to support@brandquill.app.
